According to my understanding we need to move forwards in all these directions <ul><li>+++A new founding story for a new paradigm/civilisation (and we have to abandon hero stories as they will lead us towards the same old problems)</li> <li>+++Celebrations and rituals around the new founding story</li> <li>Respect for the principle of emergence</li> <li>+++Stories, films, drama & music that question the old paradigm, and point towards a new one</li> <li>+++Systemic understanding of our predicament, along with ways to choose our most effective courses of action</li> <li>+++Different ways of relating to the people around us</li> <li>+++A careful consideration about whether you need to move to somewhere more likely to be sustainable whether individually, as a family or as a community; eg away from a city, or away from an area likely to flood</li> <li>+++Different ways of living on the land and meeting our needs</li> <li>+++Different ways of making collective decisions</li> <li>+++Different ways of dealing with free-riders, people who arrive distressed, and people who come to steal</li> <li>+++Links into regional, national and global networks for solidarity and learning</li></ul> Of course it's not possible for individuals to do all this alone, that's why we need to work in communities as well as learn from the networks that relate to what each of us are doing.
